From a Correspondent[8]

I have just come across the Grace's article regarding Lawton-Goodman and Whitlock Motors Ltd activity at Slade Works in Cricklewood.

My Grandfather, Boleslav (known also as Fritz) Goetze worked for Whitlock Motors for 10 years or so and was the works manager at the Slade Works. One of my grandfather's responsibilities (which by all accounts he really enjoyed) was to road test both the chassis and completed cars. Unfortunately he incurred a number of speeding fines and on one occasion (in 1929) had a slight accident - I have attached a copy of a letter written and signed by William Lawton-Goodman (addressed to The justice of the Peace, County of Stafford) which basically provides a character reference to the court for my grandfather regarding this accident - I have no details of the final outcome of the court hearing.

During the period 1903 - 1932 my grandfather worked for a number of motor vehicle suppliers/repairers including Milnes-Daimler Ltd - Mr H. G. Burford (221 Tottenham Court Road), The Motor Repair & Supply Co - Mr J. Arthur Knight (107 Bridge Road , Hammersmith) H & D J. Oyler - Mr A. W. Oyler (35 New Cavendish Street) and The Wilkinson Motor and Engineering Co - Mr H. E Wilkinson (10,12 & 14 Lonsdale Road, Kilburn).

Finally, I have also attached a copy of an extract from 'Flight' magazine 1930, which shows the 'Fritz' monoplane which was designed by my grandfather and constructed by Messrs Oylers Ltd in 1911.
