Note: This is a sub-section of Scammell

The Commander was introduced as a tank transporter in the 1980s. Designed in the late 1970s, they replaced the Thornycroft Antars in the British Army in 1983 with delivery of total of 125 units. The 6×4 units could carry a load of 65 tonnes and used to transport Challenger II tanks.
