London Telegraph Co
1857 December. The London Telegraph Company formally changed its title to London and Provincial Telegraph Company[1].
1869 It was argued by a shareholder that the Acts of Parliament to enable take-over by the Post Office as a going concern only applied to 3 companies (Electric and International Telegraph Co, British and Irish Magnetic Telegraphic Co, and United Kingdom Telegraph Co) but not the London and Provincial. A special case had been made for Reuter's[2].
