ALEXANDER SOWERBY HAY died on April 30, 1910,in his seventieth year.

He was chairman of Naylor, Benton & Co., Ltd., and a director of Dorman, Long & Co., Ltd.; Bell Bros., Ltd.; and the North-Eastern Steel Co., Ltd.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1882.
