Pembroke Dockyard

Pembroke Dockyard contributed significanly to the war effort during World War I. It built cruisers and warships for the Royal Navy. The dockyard closed in 1926 due to lack of orders but World War II led to renewed demand for repair of warships and it reopened. The yard closed for the final time in 1947. One of the key players at the dock was Hancock's Shipbuilding Co. (Pembroke) Ltd.
