Charles Pease
Charles Pease (c1843-1873)
1873 Obituary [1]
Today (Wednesday) a telegram reached Middlesbrough announcing the death of Mr. Charles Pease at the house of his brother, Mr. Joseph Whitwell Pease, M.P., Prince's-gardens, South Kensington, London. The deceased had for some time been in failing health, and had recently returned from a tour through Egypt.
He was only about 30 years of age, but was well known in the district as taking an active part in the great commercial undertakings - the mines, collieries and iron works - of his family. He was one of the owners of the Middlesbrough estate.
It was the general subject of remark today that his death should take place while preparations were being made for the funeral of his cousin, Mr. J. B. Pease.
