1968 Acquired the high voltage insulators business from Steatite and Porcelain Products[1]

1974 Acquired the industrial ceramics division of Plessey[2]

1974 The Government decided not to refer the proposed merger of Allied Insulators and Doulton Insulators to the Monopolies Commission[3]

c. 1974 Acquired Unilator

1975 Acquired Mason and Burns[4]

1975 Divisions were[5]:

1978 Acquired Blakey's (Malleable Castings)[6]

c.1981 Renamed A. I. Industrial Products. The group had experienced substantial losses due to reduction in demand[7]

1985 Company incorporated to acquire the assets and business of the insulator division of A. I. Industrial Products PLC; it was a subsidiary of Pearson plc

1987 Part of Fairey Holdings when it was bought out of Pearsons

1994 on 31st December the business and assets of Doulton Insulators were transferred to Allied Insulators Ltd, a fellow subsidiary of Fairey Group[8]

1999 Beauford sold the company to its management[9]
