Arthur John Stent (1890- ) of Rolls-Royce

1953 M.I.MECH.E. Born London, 1st September, 1890. Educated at Elmhurst; Whitgift School; Engineering School, London. Became apprenticed with New Engine Co and in 1911 joined staff of McEwan, Pratt and Co. engaged on design work on internal combustion locomotives. Spent eight years with Rolls-Royce Ltd., becoming personal assistant to Sir Henry Royce. Lived in S. America prior to the 1939 war, as Engineer to B. A. Great Southern Railway Co.
