1918 Formed by brothers William Bennett and John Bennett. (There were four brothers; Tom Bennett (died 1930) of Bennett, James and Co; James Bennett of James Bennett, Rugby Road; John Bennett and Will Bennett of Bennett Brothers.[1])

c1920 Brother James Bennett joined the company

1921 'Over £100,000 damage was done in a fire which destroyed the hosiery manufacturing works of Bennett Brothers, Hinckley, yesterday, throwing out of employment nearly 400 workpeople'[2]
