1996 Investment company adopted the name Doughty Hanson and Co. Acted as general partner for Doughty Hanson investment funds.

1997 Acquired Ilford

1998 Acquired the aerospace businesses of BTR Industries, including Dunlop Aviation, which made and serviced wheels and brakes, Dunlop Precision Seals and Standard Aero, which repaired engines, together with a business which made parts for turbofans. The businesses were named Dunlop Standard Aerospace Group[1]

2000 Acquired Ranks Hovis McDougall[2]

By 2001 Doughty Hanson held shares in a number of companies on behalf of its investment funds. These companies included Ranks Hovis McDougall Ltd, the largest miller and baker in the UK.[3]
