1932 Elder-Dempster Shipping, together with the African Steamship Co, and the British and African Steam Navigation Co, came under the name of Elder Dempster Lines Ltd [1]
1937 Brought into service the twin-screw mail motorship Abosso
1939 the fleet comprised 44 steamers and motorships, three smaller river motorships and a host of small craft owned by subsidiary companies in West Africa.
WWII Twenty-five of the vessels were lost during the war, including the four mail boats.
