Excelsior Foundry Co of Dudley Port, Staffs; of Sandiacre (Derbyshire).

Proprietors: Allied Ironfounders Ltd.

The Excelsior Foundry occupied the site of the former starch works of Lawrence Hall, built in 1837 between Lenton Street and the Erewash Canal. Starch production ended in 1888, shortly after the business had been bought by J. and J. Colman of Norwich. Excelsior Foundry closed in 1957.[1]
