Generale Occidentale

From Graces Guide

Company controlled by Sir James Goldsmith

1977 Cavenham Foods effectively became a subsidiary of another of Goldsmith's companies, Generale Occidentale of France[1]. Cavenham Foods owned Bovril, including Virol, Marmite and Ambrosia[2] which were presumably transferred to General Occidentale at some point

1980 Generale Occidentale withdrew from food manufacturing, selling its Bovril business, including Marmite and Ambrosia to Beecham Group and its French food operations to BSN-Gervais-Danone[3]
