1893 October 21st. Died. 'The death of Mr Henry Allen, J.P., took place at Amberley on Saturday morning, at the age of 78. The deceased gentleman was a member of the old firm of Reynolds and Allen, and went to Gloucester from Stroud with the late Alderman Reynolds is 1860, taking to the business of the City Flour Mills previously carried on by Messrs. Hadley. and now belonging to Mews. Priday, Metford, and Co. Mr Allen and his late partner retired from active share in the business about 13 years ago, and eight years ago the change to the present style of the firm was made....'[1]
