1868 Born the son of George Butchard, Ship Builder.

1881 Living at Ellerslie, Milton in Gravesend: George Butchard (age 42 born Liverpool), Engineer, Shipbuilder and Ship Owner employing 120 men and boys. With his wife Mary J. Butchard (age 40 born Scotland) and three daughters and two sons George W. Butchard (age 17 born Gravesend) and John A. Butchard (age 11 born Gravesend.[1]

1907 Married at St. Helier, jersey, to Violet Ann Grandin

1911 Living at Rozel, The Avenue, Gravesend: John Alexander Butchard (age 41 born Gravesend), Manager, Cement Works. With his wife Violet Ann Butchard (age 25 born jersey), son John Stanley Butchard and daughter Pauline.[2]

1942 Died at Jersey.
