Late 1880s Provided telephone service in Manchester[1]. The main contractors for the installation had been Fowler-Waring Cable Co, W. T. Glover and Co, Telegraph Manufacturing Co, Siemens Brothers and Co and Mix and Genest of Berlin[2]

1892 Flotation of the Pioneer Telephone Co to acquire the Mutual Telephone Co as a going concern[3]

1901 It was subsequently reported that the company's plant was "of the cheapest and most flimsy description" "not at all comparable to that of the National Telephone Co"[4] although this was subsequently dismissed by A. R. Bennett[5]
