Myton-on-Swale, N. Yorks

A handsome cast iron arch bridge across the River Swale.

1868 Built for Major H. M. Stapylton of Myton Hall. Main span 100 ft. Two masonry arches of 23 ft 9 in. span. Designed and carried out under the direction of Thomas Page by G. Gordon Page. Ironwork by Cliff and Co of Bradford (presumably Joseph Cliff and Co). Masonry by Mr. Keswick of York. For description and drawing, see Engineering 1868/08/07, pp.125-6.

The designers were presumably Thomas Page (1803-1877) and George Gordon Page.
