National Plastics

National Plastics Ltd, of Walthamstow Avenue, London E4 and Tyburn, Birmingham 24

1947 Company formed to acquire and amalgamate the (plastic moulding) interests of De La Rue Plastics Ltd and Moulded Products Ltd[1].

1947 National Plastics acquired British Moulded Plastics (formerly De La Rue Plastics)and Moulded Products Ltd[2].

1959 National Plastics was acquired by Courtaulds[3].

1965 Carron Co and Courtaulds formed a joint venture Carron National Plastics to make plastic baths, PVC rainwater goods and other plastic components for the building industry[4].

1967 Courtaulds and Guinness and Co collaborated on production of plastic bricks for Inca Construction, sharing production between their respective subsidiaries National Plastic and Industrial Mouldings of Warwick[5]. Courtaulds transferred its plastics moulding interests in Courtaulds Engineering to National Plastic. Courtaulds merged National Plastics and its packaging subsidiary Betts and Co[6].

1978 Pye sold Ekco Plastics to National Plastics[7].
