- Northern Counties Electricity Supply Co
- Houghton-le-Spring and District Electric Lighting Co
- Carville Site and Power Co
- Tees Power Station Co
The company name then became North-Eastern Electric Supply Co

By the end of the 1930s the electricity supply arrangements for Newcastle were unusual for a large town at the time in that a company (rather than a municipal undertaking) still supplied the electricity.
