1893 Description of Clyde passenger steamer PS Isle of Arran, constructed by T. B. Seath & Co. The machinery was provided by William King and Co of Glasgow. Special mention was made of the 'life-saving section deck', the invention of Reid and Co., 11, Bothwell-street, Glasgow.[2]
