Typhoo

From Graces Guide

Typhoo is a brand of tea in the United Kingdom. It was launched in 1903 by John Sumner of Birmingham.

For many years the brand was manufactured at Moreton on the Wirral.

1941 Typhoo Tea Ltd was established as a private company to acquire the business established as Sumner's Typhoo Tea

1949 Incorporation of Typhoo Tea (Holdings) Ltd to acquire the Typhoo Tea business, Tea Buyers Ltd and Meriden Tea Co Ltd[1]

1968 Acquired by Schweppes[2]

Later Cadbury Typhoo Ltd

1986 Premier Brands acquired the beverages and foods division of Cadbury Schweppes (which included Typhoo tea) [3].

2005 Premier Foods announced that it was selling Typhoo Tea to India's Apeejay Surrendra Group for $140 million.
