1986 Brymbo Steel Works, a leading UK producer of engineering steel, is now a vital part of United Engineering Steels Ltd., a joint venture between GKN and the BSC.[3]
1986 Stocksbridge Engineering Steels, Stocksbridge, Sheffield a division of United Engineering Steels Limited[4]
1987 Acquired the steel milling and rolling business of Triplex Lloyd at Wednesbury (ex-F H Lloyd) [5].
1988 Acquired F. H. Lloyd[6]
1988 Rotherham Engineering Steels, a Division of United Engineering Steels Ltd has successfully started up the first of two continuous casting machines at its Aldwarke site by producing 125 tonnes of concast blooms[7]
1991 Garringtons, which is a member of United Engineering Steels Limited and one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of high volume forgings.[8]
1993 The Templeborough plant in Rotherham would cease output by the end of the year.[9] Production from Templeborough is being switched to the group’s larger plants at Aldwarke, also in Rotherham, and Stocksbridge near Sheffield[10]
1994 ANDREWS (STOCKHOLDERS) Ltd - Bright Steel Sales. A subsidiary of United Engineering Steels Limited[11]
1995 Acquired by British Steel, name changed to British Steel Engineering Steels Ltd
1997 British Steel Engineering Steels Ltd sold its forgings business - see United Engineering Forgings
2000 Name changed to Corus Engineering Steels Ltd
