1939 William C Jackson, works manager, aircraft production, aeronautical engineer and designer, lived in Gillingham, Kent with Ethel M, Joan M E, shorthand typist, aircraft works, and Geoffrey W[1]. Presumably this refers to the works of Short Brothers (Rochester and Bedford) at Rochester?

It is with regret that we record the death of Mr. W. C. Jackson, which occurred suddenly, on Tuesday of last week.

Mr. Jackson, who was formerly chief designer to Saunders Engineering and Shipbuilding Company, Anglesey, was, at the time of his death, in charge of Dunlop aviation division's technical publications.
