WILLIAM GUTHRIE STRANG, B.Sc. (Glasgow), born on the 5th September, 1878, died in India on the 6th June, 1909.

After obtaining his practical training under Messrs. Barr and Stroud, and Messrs. Mavor and Coulson, Glasgow, he joined the staff of the Electric Construction Company, Wolverhampton.

At the time of his death he was in charge of the contract for electrifying the Perambur workshops of the Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 12th January, 1904.
