GEOFFREY CHARLES BRINDLEY TAITE, whose death in his seventieth year occurred at Lutterworth, Leicestershire, on 27th January 1951, was a director of [[Follsain-Wycliffe Foundries|Follsain-Wycliffe Foundries, Ltd.]], Lutterworth, and was formerly chairman and managing director of the [[Wycliffe Foundry and Engineering Co|Wycliffe Foundry and Engineering Company, Ltd.]], in the same town. He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, and served a brief apprenticeship in the locomotive department of the [[Taff Vale Railway]]. He also gained additional practical experience during his college vacations in Russia, Italy, and other countries on the Continent, fitting locomotives with special fuel apparatus. He later obtained an insight into the routine of the principal railway workshops and those of private locomotive builders in the United States.
