John Thomas Ireland was born in 1877 and received his technical education at St. Peter's Collegiate School, Wolverhampton.
He obtained his shop training in the works of the Electric Construction Co, Bushbury, and subsequently with the Eadie Manufacturing Co, Redditch.
1904 Patented an improved wheel of the artillery type for cars
After spending several years in the Motor Department of the latter Company he commenced in business on his own account as a motor engineer in Wolverhampton, and in 1912 joined Wolverhampton Motor Services and remained with this firm as Manager until 1931, when he became a Director of Ireland's Garage.
1920s Produced some motorcycles under the Bluebird name
He died on the 18th October, 1932, at the age of 55.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1924, and was actively associated with the Wolverhampton Centre as a Member of the Committee.
