1900 News Item. 'The Government of India have sanctioned a bonus of 10,000 rs. to Mr. G. H. List, late chief engineer, North-Western Railway, and Mr. A. Morse, now officiating chief engineer. North-Western Railway, the system of interlocking points and signals known as "List and Morse System of Interlocking.” This system has in use now for some years past on the North-Western Railway, and has been the means of saving much money heretofore lost in damages to permanent way and rolling stock through trains running foul of each other on account of carelessness of pointsmen. The system is to be adopted on all railways in India, as it has been found to be a perfect arrangement for the purpose.'[2]
