1930 First mill for production of section for metal windows opened at Darlington
1935 Public company incorporated[2].
1944 Acquired Bromford Ironworks and invested in rail mill at Darlington[3]

1951 Company nationalised under the Iron and Steel Act; became part of the Iron and Steel Corporation of Great Britain[5].
1954 50 percent of the shares in the company were sold back to the previous owners Crittall Manufacturing Co by the Iron and Steel Holding and Rationalization Agency; the remaining 50 percent remained with Dorman, Long and Co [6].
