near Tavistock, Devon
Sourton Quarry produced high grade limestone in the 19th century, but closed due to flooding in 1906. There were various owners until ECC finished quarrying aggregate in 1960. The lease was then sold to Devon Wildlife Trust. It is now managed as a nature reserve.
