Stevens and Samson, engineers and founders, of Taunton, in 1904, he was employed as a draughtsman by Messrs. Biggs Wall and Company, gas plant engineers, and subsequently acted as works manager. He then became chief draughtsman and designer to Messrs. Methane-Hydrogen Gas Plants, Ltd., with the additional duties of chief assistant to the late Mr. C. B. Tully, consulting gas engineer, London.
