1953 M.I.MECH.E. Born London, 1st September, 1890. Educated at Elmhurst; Whitgift School; Engineering School, London. Became apprenticed with [[New Engine Co]] and in 1911 joined staff of [[McEwan, Pratt and Co]]. engaged on design work on internal combustion locomotives. Spent eight years with [[Rolls-Royce]] Ltd., becoming personal assistant to Sir [[Henry Royce]]. Lived in S. America prior to the 1939 war, as Engineer to [[Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway|B. A. Great Southern Railway Co]]. Private Address: Mellow House, Plaidy, Looe, Cornwall.
