THOMAS KNIGHT SIBBALD spent fifteen years of his life in Egypt, where he became superintending engineer of the Boulac Engine Works at Cairo.
He returned to England during the War and took up work at a munitions factory in Leeds.
At the end of the War he secured an appointment with the Leeds Forge Company and three years later joined Messrs. Shelvoke and Drury of Letchworth as director, holding this position until his death on 29th October 1929, at the age of 61.

At a later period and before going to Egypt he was draughtsman for Messrs. D. and W. Henderson and Company and for the Clydebank Engineering Company.
He became a Member of the Institution in 1907.
