"ARTHUR LESLIE LARGE was identified with the city of Birmingham during the whole of his career. He received his education at the Central Technical College, obtaining a first class Certificate of the City and Guilds of London Institute for mechanical engineering, and served his apprenticeship from 1907 to 1911 with [[Belliss and Morcom|Messrs. Belliss and Morcom, Ltd]]., in whose employment he continued as a fitter and erector for a further two years.


In 1914 he began a connection with [[Bulpitt and Sons|Messrs. Bulpitt and Sons]], which was only terminated by his death on 13th March 1948, at the age of fifty-eight. During this long period he held the positions of works engineer and joint works manager and was chiefly concerned with sheet metal processes and the production of electric motors and domestic electrical appliances. He was also responsible for the complete electrification of the works and the installation of a power press. Mr. Large was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1923. He was also an Associate Member of the [[Institution of Electrical Engineers]] and a past-president of the [[Birmingham Association of Mechanical Engineers]]."

"ARTHUR LESLIE LARGE was identified with the city of Birmingham during the whole of his career. He received his education at the Central Technical College, obtaining a first class Certificate of the City and Guilds of London Institute for mechanical engineering, and served his apprenticeship from 1907 to 1911 with Messrs. Belliss and Morcom, Ltd., in whose employment he continued as a fitter and erector for a further two years.
