1939 The Llanelly Associated Tinplate Companies Limited was formed, comprising[1]:
- Old Castle Iron and Tin Plate Co Ltd (HQ) – 17 Mills;
- Ashburnham Tinplate Co Ltd. – 4 Mills;
- Western Tinplate Co Ltd. – 9 Mills;
- Kidwelly Tinplate Co – 7 Mills;
- Teilo Tinplate Co Ltd (Pontardulais) – 6 Mills.
This amalgamation saw the end of the independent tinplate manufacturer in Llanelli. The only Tinplate Works that did not belong to either Richard Thomas and Company or Llanelly Associated Tinplate Companies Limited, were the small Pemberton Tinplate Co and the Old Lodge Tinplate Co.
