1897 Josiah Cooper and Francis George Bensly, trading as Cooper and Co of Birmingham, patented "improvements in or connected with polishing mops"

1898 Patent on "Improvements to cycle and like handles" to Josiah Cooper, Francis George Bensly, and Cooper and Co (Birmingham) Ltd; also Cooper and Bensly patented improvements in the manufacture of felt handles for cycles.

1960 Formed a new subsidiary Coopers Plastic Foams Ltd., after acquiring the Volaprene division of Volcrepe Ltd.[1]

1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Felt and flexible foam products [2]

1963 Acquired by John Crossley-Carpet Trades Holdings[3]

1968 Sold Cooper Plastic Foams Ltd. to Vitafoam.[4]
