1929 Formed by Unilever and others to bring together the Africa and Eastern Trade Corporation and another loss making concern, the Niger Co.

1930 Agreed to move from Africa House, Kingsway to Unilever's new headquarters[1]

1930s Processor of ground nuts as a feedstock for making margarine

1947 Carried out the government-supported groundnut scheme in Africa[2]

1960s Involved in development projects in West Africa including a cement works, construction of a dam, etc. Also involved in brewing beer.
