1968 Dowty acquired Higgins Boughton Industries and its principal subsidiary Mining Engineering Co (Meco) of Worcester[1].
In its heyday, more than 1,000 employees passed through its gates in Worcester.

1989 Management buy-out from Dowty.
1993 Became Longwall International after the company was merged with the mining equipment interests of the Dobson Park Group.[2]
