1870 Born in Hertford the son of Alexander Peter McMullen, Brewster and Maltster, and his wife Mary Ann Shepherd
c.1889-1899 Worked for ten years in partnership with J. A. McMullen M.I.E.E. as consultant engineers.
1896 After the Nalder and Harrison Construction Syndicate was wound up, John Alexander McMullen and Kenric James McMullen acquired the general engineering department, together with the leasehold property owned by the Syndicate[1]
1899 Associate member of the IEE. Living at Redditch and chief residential electrical engineer of the Redditch UDC.
1901 John A McMullen 37, consultant electrical engineer, working on own account, lived in Hornchurch with Anne M McMullen 37 and Kenric J McMullen 30 Brother, consultant electrical engineer, working on own account[2]
1902 Married at Steyning to Eva Matilda Ellen Sutton (1876–1907)
