• Birmid Qualcast (Home and Garden Equipment) Ltd,
• Birmid Qualcast (Wrought and Engineering Products) Ltd .

Birmid Qualcast (Foundries) Ltd consisted of

The light alloy products group:

• Birmingham Aluminium Castings Co.
• Perry Barr Metal Co.
• Sterling Metals.
• Trucast.

and the Ferrous products group:

• Coneygre Foundry.
• Dartmouth Auto Castings.
• Midland Motor Cylinder Co.
• Qualcast (Derby Foundries).
• Qualcast (Wolverhampton).
• Sterling Metals.
• Birmidal Developments.
• W. and J. Chatwin.
• Birmid Auto Castings in Australia.

1971 Acquired C. and B. Smith

1980 Over a period of 18 months, the division had closed 6 foundries in the West Midlands

1988 Sterling Metals Ltd was renamed Sterling International Technology Ltd
