1880 The brothers Benjamin Horton, a gentleman of Birmingham, William, a solicitor and Joseph, a provision merchant, were the executors of their father, Isaac Horton[2]

1881 A solicitor, living with his mother in Edgbaston[3]

1887 Acquired the cycle business of Humber and Lambert which was then combined into the new Humber and Co [4]
