1912 Sir Maurice Fitzmaurice joined the firm of Coode, Son and Matthews

On the retirement of Sir William Matthews, in 1921 Hugh Henry Gordon Mitchell became a partner in the firm which became Coode, Fitzmaurice, Wilson, and Mitchell, chartered civil engineers.

1924 the firm became Coode, Wilson, Mitchell and Vaughan-Lee
