1967 Imperial Metal Industries acquired the titanium business of Jessop-Saville, making the company the only producer of titanium in Britain[1]

1978 Decided to close the Titanium plant (capacity 3,600 TPA) which was 25 years old and needed significant investment.

1982 Minor shareholding in Deeside Titanium which opened a new production plant
