1934 Founded as Eastern Counties Preserves by Mr Philip B. Lockwood.[1]

The company grew with the horticultural industry in the most productive area of the country, Lincolnshire.[2]

1940 Eastern Counties Preserves was in liquidation[3]

1940 Eastern Counties Preserves (1940) Ltd was incorporated as fruit and vegetable canners

1953 Lockwoods Sales Ltd, a subsidiary, was incorporated; later in the year Lockwoods Fruit Farms Ltd, another subsidiary, was incorporated

1958 Lockwoods Italiana S.p.A., a subsidiary, was incorporated

1959 Eastern Counties Preserves (1940) was renamed Lockwoods Foods Ltd

1960 Brian, Jenks and Co Ltd, an associated company, was incorporated as sales agents for the company

1960 Lockwoods Foods incorporated as a public company

1962 Lockwoods Foods, a £1 million group of Lincolnshire canners, acquired J. and J. Beaulah.[4]

1981 The business was rescued from receivership when it was acquired by Hillsdown Holdings[5]

1982 Lockwood Canners Ltd, of Bridge Road, Long Sutton, near Spalding.
