1883 Company was registered to construct a light railway 48.5 miles in length. [1]

A light railway, of 3ft gauge, from Belturbet, Co. Cavan (the station of the Great Northern Railway of Ireland), through Ballyconnell and near Bawnboy to Ballinamore, Mohill, and Dromod (where it met the Midland Great Western Railway of Ireland).

Eight engines were supplied by Robert Stephenson and Co

1925 Absorbed into the Great Southern Railways
