Iron and Steel Investments Ltd, a consortium formed by the "major Steel firms" [1] especially for the purpose of purchasing 3 of the remaining nationalized steel companies.

1963 Purchased Bairds and Scottish Steel, John Baker and Bessemer and Skinningrove Iron Co from the Holding and Realization Agency. All 3 companies were working at much less than full capacity but the new owners had no plans for closure[2].

The consortium bought the Scottish Iron and Steel Co[3]; the old Baird management withdrew. The company was no longer viable and it was closed it in 1967.
