1899 The company was registered on 4 January, as the Trusty Engine Works, to acquire the business of oil and gas engine manufacturers of Weyman and Hitchcock. [1]

1900 June. Royal Agricultural Show at York. Showed the Trusty engine. [2]

1900 Paris exhibition. The Trusty Oil Engine Co showed an oil and a gas engine [3]

1901 The name was changed to the Shillingford Engineering Co.
