1805 Founded by brothers Alexander and Samuel Henry.

1882 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, Mitchell Henry, trading under the name of A. and S. Henry and Co., at Manchester, Huddersfield, Glasgow, Belfast, and elsewhere, and Thomas Stanley Brailsford, lately carrying on business together as Merchants and Commission Agents, at Bradford, in the county of York, under the same name of A. and S. Henry and Co., was duly dissolved, on the 30th of November, 1881, by mutual consent. The business of the partnership will be continued as heretofore by the said Mitchell Henry, under the same name or style of A. and S. Henry and Co., ..'[1]

1889 The company was registered on 3 December, to take over the business of the firm of the same name, merchants and manufacturers at Manchester and elsewhere. [2]

1909 Acquired Jaffe Brothers and Co (Dundee).[3]

1932 Opened a new factory in Liverpool.[4]

1972 Acquired by Great Universal Stores.
