Charles de Grave Sells (1856-1942) O.B.E., M.Inst.C.E., M.I.N.A., Naval and Mechanical Engineer,
1856 Born the son of Charles Sells, Civil Engineer, and his wife Elisa Stanton Harding (and great-grandson of Charles De Grave and his wife Mary De Grave)
Educated at King's College School and King's College, London.
Trained with Maudslay, Sons and Field, London.
Went to Italy for Maudslay, Sons and Field, and was responsible for the construction of marine engines designed by them in the works of G. Ansaldo and Co. at Genoa
1897 June 14th. Married at St Stephen, East Twickenham, to Mary Anna Taliacarne, widow, formerly Minchin
1906 Member of the International Jury at the Milan Exhibition
1911 Member of the International Jury at the Turin Exhibition.
