Mr Walter G. Head (Member) died on the 27th October 1963, aged 82 years. Educated at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate, and Finsbury Technical College, Mr Head began his career at the South Metropolitan Gas Company.
In 1920 he joined [[Humphreys and Glasgow|Humphreys and Glasgow Ltd]], where he worked for many years as a Senior Project Engineer. Mr Head had been a Member of this Institution for 63 years, and was also a Member of the Institution of Gas Engineers.

Gas Engineer in charge of West Greenwich works

1905-7 In charge of the British Monozite Works in North Carolina, U.S.A.

WWI South-Eastern District Manager, Metropolitan Munitions Committee; Director of Works, Munitions Inventions Department, Ministry of Munitions; Technical Adviser, Priority Department, in all gas matters.
