1859 After the death of Mr. Knight, Mr. Edward Wood and his brother John succeeded to the firm.
1867 Patent petition by Edward Wood, of the firm of John and Edward Wood, of Bolton, in the county of Lancaster, Engineers, in respect of the invention of "improvements in steam engines."[1]

1914 Still recorded as Engineers and ironfounders in the Red Book. Specialities: steam engines, mill gearing, superheaters. [4]
1927 Aberconway described the firm in the present tense as engine builders
